This presentation focuses on informing students on the intentional misuse and abuse by teens of prescription and over-the counter medications. They will also learn why it is important to not share medications and take the medication as prescribed by a doctor.

The Good Samiritan Law
This Law was passed in AZ in 2018.
It protects a person in the event they need to receive aid or render aid as a result of a drug-related overdose.
Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS) 13-3423 states:
A. A person who, in good faith, seeks medical assistance for Someone experiencing a drug-related overdose may not be charged with or Prosecuted for the possession or use of a controlled substance or drug Paraphernalia if the evidence for the violation was gained as a result of Seeking medical assistance.
B. A person who experiences a drug-related overdose and who is in Need of medical assistance may not be charged with or prosecuted for the Possession or use of a controlled substance or drug paraphernalia if the Evidence for the violation was gained as a result of the overdose and the Need for medical assistance.
